Considering the price, this is a great deal to DIY a budget shelf. I like that these can be installed upside down to get the floating shelf look. I installed all 8 L brackets on wood studs using 2.5” wood screws to support one single 12 foot long by 12-inch-deep wood board. I would not recommend installing it upside down like I did unless you mount them to studs and overprovision on the number of supporting L brackets. I loaded my new shelf up with 12 filled banker’s boxes, plus some miscellaneous other items. It is pretty solid, I have no concerns about it falling down, I could probably do pullups on it. However, I don’t think this would be very sturdy at all if installed on drywall using the included hardware.One tip: All of the pre-drilled holes in the L brackets are notched. That means all the screws fit perfectly in place. That also means there’s very little margin for error when drilling your holes in the wall. I messed up one L bracket by a couple millimeters, and fixed it by adding washers to that bracket. The washer backs the screw out of the notch and gives you some room for adjustment. It was enough for me to raise it up to be level with the other L brackets, luckily.What I used to install this: (1) this product ($43), (2) real wood (pine) board 12’ ($34); (3) leftover white paint/primer; (4) leftover star drive deck screws and washers.I did not use any of the screws or mounting hardware included with this product. I doubt it would have stayed on the wall under any sort of load using the included hardware. I didn’t deduct a star for this because I consider it pretty standard quality for this type of product and I expected I would need to supply my own mounting hardware for this project.I’ve purchased these twice because I love them so much.These brackets are perfect to help support a banquette bench that I'm building. Very solid and sturdy. The plastic screw in anchors aren't the best so I wouldn't suggest using them for anything heavy...or at all.I bought these to install shelves in a pantry. I didn't like the look of the cheap stamped steel brackets and the more decorative ones usually had a support arm (triangle shaped) that takes up valuable storage space.I saw these and liked that they offer the strength of the stamped brackets but look more upscale. They are pretty sturdy, but can flex slightly since they don't have the ugly stamping or angle supports, but the flex is minimal. I doubt they flex more than the stamped ones, so unless you're putting bags of concrete or other very heavy items on them I doubt you'll have any trouble.The finish is nice and the look is modern and clean. Just be sure you fasten them to a stud as drywall will greatly reduce the weight limit of your shelves.These are super sturdy. You could hang anything you want from shelves when using these brackets. We put two layers of shelves to give us more storage space in the closets. And because they do not have the diagonal the shelf under them has more room. I took down other brackets I had previously used that had the diagonal support. These brackets do not need the diagonal to give them strength, these are awesome.After returning my first set because they could not be installed into studs my second purchase was lost in mail. I found these 13$ more than the others but I am almost glad I went thru the BS because these brackets are top notch. Very well built, coating is perfect and durable. I used them to install butcher block in my pantry. Reason for 4 star. The screws were little thin and short for the shelf it would be supporting. I went to ace and purchased cabinet screws. 30. Cents each worked great and flush.Easy to install but flimsy.The brackets are heavy duty and sturdy, but i ordered the gold, hoping for actual brass brackets that would be bright since they are mostly hidden under the shelf. The painted brass color was disappointing. It was too dull to even be noticeable.
